Trustee elections
It is up to the whanau to determine how they elect their representatives to represent their tupuna line. However it is important to use a transparent process that is supported by evidence, ie public notice, minutes of whanau hui, register of whanau endorsement, whakapapa, and whanau support at the AGM. The AGM will confirm a nomination that is supported with appropriate evidence. Where there is a valid dispute by whanau of that line to the process, or competing nominations supported by evidence the AGM cannot make a decision as to who the trustee will be. Whanau need to either sort it and agree a single nomination at that hui or the nomination/s will be referred back to the whanau to resolve. Please whanau it is also important that you choose representatives that are committed and are able to fulfil the duties required to progress the Trust’s functions. This includes attending all meetings and undertaking work for the Trust on a regular basis. Particular skills that the Trust would benefit from at this time include operational management, resource or geothermal management, financial, commercial and business expertise, comms or tourism expertise. |
